A record race!!

The photo car of the event.
This says it all!! Don Moyer's AMC powered Willys dragging the bumper!
Don fell in the finals of X/Hot Rod (Exhibition) but everybody cheered his runs.

In the A/Gas Supercharged match race it was the Boss Hydro
of Rocky Pirrone taking on Fred Bear in the K.S.Pittman Willys.

Side by side the whole way down the track.

At the stripe, Rocky took the title.

In the finals of the East Coast Gassers show, Roger Cavallaro is out first in his `57 Gasser over Lew Stitley's `53 Corvette with a .001 to Lew's .015 light

The Tijuana Taxi took the title with a 10.07 on a 10.07 record at 127.92 MPH to Roger's 11.63 on a 11.59 record at 112.68 MPH.

The A/Hot Rod (Big Blocks) final came down to Dodge verses Ford with the big blown 392 Hemi of Jay Arnsperger taking the title with a 7.19 at 99.12 MPH over Ruben Gordon's 454 powered `33 Ford's 7.23 at 99.96 MPH. It was close!

The A/Hot Rod title went to Jay's 392 Hemi.

Jesse Abdo in his `62 Nova is out a little late in the finals of B/Hot Rod (Small Blocks) but he was able to run down Gregg Evans 3-2bbl Chevy powered `39 Plymouth pick up. Taking the win with a 7.09 at 94.87 MPH to Gregg's 7.60

In the traps it was Jesse taking the win light.

The C/Hot Rod (4's, 6's and Flatties) title was over at the tree when Gary Newman's `30 Ford Flattie drew a red light giving the win over to Josh Barttek's screaming 6 cylinder `40 Chevy with a 10.63 at 67.55 MPH to the
Ford's 12.76 at 43.31 MPH.

Kevin Baker definitely Finished Business winning the X/Hot Rod finals over the wheel standing Willys of Don Moyer by carding a 9.51 a 9.07 record at 124.30.

Don got out of shape and almost off the track but powered back with a 12.19 on a 10.99 record and blasted to a 116.89 MPH top end charge.

WINNERS CIRCLE

Long time Gasser great, Lew Stitley of Milton, PA captured the East Coast Gassers title in his all conquering `53 Corvette, the Tijuana Taxi. Lew is a retired special needs teacher and has been racing since the `60. What a legend at the Beaver.

Roger Cavallaro of Rochester, NY made the long trek to the Beaver and had a ball, taking the runner up title in the East Coast Gassers war.

The A/Hot Rod champion was Jay Arnsperger out of Wilkes-Barre, PA driving his custom `33 Dodge truck powered by a real 392 Hemi with 2-4 bbl.

Ruben Gordon of Greeley, PA was all smiles after picking up the runner up title in A/Hot Rod with his 454 powered `33 Ford sedan.

Jesse Abdo, of the Garage Club fame put his `62 Nova into the winners circle taking the B/Hot Rod title with his small block ride.
Jesse said, "This is the coolest race ever".

Gregg Evans of Manchester, PA took runner up in his one of a kind,  `39 Plymouth roadster pick up. The 3-2bbl. powered ride sure ran great.

Engine builder, Josh Barttek, of Norristown did a repeat winning the C/Hot Rod title for the second year in a row in his `40 Chevy powered by a 252 inch Chevy six. I believe Josh made more laps than anyone over the weekend helping dry the track and just giving rides. He'll be back.

Gary Newman of Hanover, PA was the runner up in C/Hot Rod in his `30 Ford

Kevin Baker put his Finished Business `63 Nova gasser in the winners circle taking the X/Hot Rod title back home to Milton. The stick car is a real terror.

Don Moyer of Mentor, Ohio was the runner up in X/ Hot Rod (Exhibition)
with his AMC powered `40 Willys, but he was the crowd favorite pulling 4 foot wheelstands.

BONUS SHOTS

The trophies were a classic rendition of Flash from Trash.

All trophies were hand lettered by Jen who snapped some great photos again.

In the battle of Gassers we love to watch, it was Lew Stitley's Tijuana Taxi taking the win over Gregg Grubel's  455 Olds powered "Class Reunion" `51 Chevy in the closest race of the day. Lew ran a right on the record 10.07 on a 10.07 to Gregg's 10.06 on a 10.05 record. It was a barn burner for sure.

Randy Campbell's `50 Studebaker was a little bit late at the tree and that is all Roger Cavallaro needed to take the semi's in the East Coast Gassers show.

Steve Mertz's 440 Mopar powered `32 Ford fell in the semi's of X/Hot Rod to Don Moyer's Rebel Reaper `40 Willys.

George "Trash Man" Green made it to the 1/4 finals of B/Hot Rod in his `36 Plymouth pick up, losing to eventual winner Jesse Abdo. George ran a 10.60.

Dwight McDonald's `55 Ford had Jeff Broy's `56 Chevy dead meat on the tree but couldn't hold off the small block, losing with a 10.34 to 9.23 in B/HR

You just got to love David Dreyer's clean `40 Chevy.

Joe Conforth's `32 Ford verses Gregg Evans Mopar

Austin Powers dreams of having a Jag as cool at the English Brothers.

Dave Lohr had his street legal Ford Model A pick up flying. He went 10.60's!
